I was given the privilege of designing and illustrating the cover for the introductory novel in the "Tales of the Barbarian" series by T. R. Sohn.
T. R. Sohn had a vision for this novel to depart from the look and feel of his other series, "The Sorceress and the Vigilant." Where that cover showcased a highly detailed, almost "manga-esque" style, this was going to lean into the minimal, texture illustration style. After multiple discussions and iterations, we landed on a finl design that kicks off the series with a bang and gives me a starting point for future books in the series.
